About the Nation-Building Army
One of the instruments created by the Government of Tanganyika soon after the independence of the Nation is the Nation Building Army established on 10 Jul 1963. The Nation Building Army or simply JKT, was formed to heal the wounds left by the colonial government among the Tanzanian community which includes discrimination among them on the basis of religion, ethnicity, race and income. This tool is important in educating and preparing young Tanzanians to be patriotic, ethical, disciplined and to make good citizens who want to serve and protect their country. JKT Forces is a place where young people have the opportunity to learn fully and practically, the meaning and importance of work and also to learn to provide services to their Nation without having to pay any compensation. Therefore, it has become clear that the role of JKT in the development of this Nation is great and very important.
Various countries around the world have institutions similar to our JKT institution. On that basis our country having JKT is a matter of great pride. JKT is also a tool for building Unity and Nationalism for our youth.

OBJECTIVES (Objectives)
1. Youth Development
Young people are taught to love one another regardless of differences in ideology, religion, ethnicity, or income.
Love handicrafts.
Valuing and developing the traditions, customs and maintaining the culture of the Nation.
Be good citizens, confident, dedicated, patriotic and patriotic.
2. National Defense
To provide young people with military skills to become a reserve Army, to prepare young people who will be eligible to join other Defense and Security agencies.
To prepare young people to assist in various disasters, such as floods, fires and various accidents.
3.Production Assets
In order to make Tanzanian youth avoid the hassle that office work is the only and best way to survive, JKT is responsible for wealth creation with the aim of enabling young people to be self-employed in various sectors immediately after concluding the contract with JKT. Asset production by JKT includes: –
Building and renovating buildings
Industry and Agriculture
Minerals and Energy
Tourism
Security for Private Security Services
Stores (Super Market)
Connecting cars to machinery
Educational services
