The Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LATRA) is a government regulatory Authority established by Parliament Act No. 3 of 2019. The Act repealed the act of the former regulator, the Surface and Marine Transport Regulatory Authority (SUMATRA). The authority is set to regulate the road transport sectors, in particular, the transport of goods and passengers (passenger buses, intercity buses, cargo-carrying vehicles, taxis, motorcycles, and trial bikes), railways, and cable transport. LATRA has its main office in Dar es Salaam and has regional offices in all twenty-six (26) regions of mainland Tanzania.

Taarifa Mpya Kuhusi Nauli Mpya Za Mabasi Na Daladala ( April 30 2022)

Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LATRA) has announced new Daladala and regional bus fares, which are expected to come into effect on May 14, 2022.

LATRA Director General, Gilliard Ngewe said for Daladala the 0-10 Kilometer fare would be Tsh. 500 instead of Tsh. 400, fare of Tsh. 450 will be Tsh. 550

30 km fare increased will be Tsh. 850 instead of Tsh. 750, 35 km fare will be Tsh. 1,000, 40 km fare will be Tsh. 1,100

Regional Buses Standard Grade 1 Kilometer increased by 11% from Tsh. 36 and become Tsh. 41. With the Central Grade increased by 6%, the increase is Tsh. 56.88 per kilometer from Tsh. 53

Kagera is an administrative region of Tanzania that is located on the western shore of Lake Victoria in the northwest of the country. Kagera borders Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and Kenya, which is on the other side of Lake Victoria. The region was known as “West Lake” before June 1979. The regional capital city is Bukoba.
